Was it really 4 weeks ago people were getting off the plane, groggy with puffy eyes and wondering what they had gotten into?  It seems not long ago that you were being whisked away by your host parents and being forced to eat copious amounts of meat before coming back to meet me for a tour of this wonderful city called Segovia.  The time has really flown but hopefully the experience has been a positive one and something that will be reflected upon for years to come.  It was great getting to know all of you and to see your interactions with the locals and a culture unlike your own.  Looking through the photos I realize that you really did do a lot: and I haven’t seen YOUR photos either!  You shared something unique with the group and at the end of the day this experience is yours alone and no one can take that away from you.  You will always be able to look back at the summer of 2013 and say, “Oh yeah.  I lived in Spain that summer.”

I hope the rest of the summer treats everyone well and we will look to have a reunion some time in the fall.

Until then, I will leave you with a famous Spanish saying: "Os espero salud, amor, pesetas y el tiempo para gozarlos."

Parents and friends might like to know what this says so here is the English translation:
"I wish you health, love, money and the time to enjoy them."

Hasta la próxima,
Jaynz

I've never had a dinner quite like this. Meeting 23 other people in a cave that I had spent an entire month with in Spain was such a unique experience. Not to mention getting a pig shoulder with the ear still attached, that was a first. What a great way to end our last night in Segovia!

This trip was definitely the best experience I have ever had. Walking out of Carmen's house for the last time to hear her say "Adios, hijo" one last time was the moment I realized the trip was over. The farewell dinner was a great ending for now. I'll see you all in Raleigh!

I had a great time in Segovia and couldn't have asked for a better group of people to spend it with! The final dinner was absolutely delicious and it was great seeing everyone together for one last time. My favorite part of the night was when we formed a circle and told funny stories from the trip. I already miss you guys and can't wait to see you all in Raleigh!!

Thanks McConnell! You made me shed a tear on my phone! Nah I'm joking! This was the greatest experience that I have had ever and I want to thank you first of all for putting this all together for us! I am extremely satisfyed with everything we did in Spain!
Spending time with the 21 others was great and I couldn't have asked for some of the best friends. We all are family and we have this unique connection now and I hope that we all stay close and friends for a very long time! Love you guys and have a great Summer!

As I'm traveling after the program, I'm realizing how much of a home Segovia has come to me. I already miss the streets that are now somewhat familiar to me.
